Vacation Day 2 (The Painting)
It was our second day, and we were all relaxed, but not for long…
It was mid morning, and I was chatting with Coral and Princess Ailene of the Irish Sea. We were all in Coral's hotel room because she had packed the lightest and it had a lot of space, even after I turned our bags back. "So, who's your favourite famous mermaid, and what is she famous for?" I asked.
"Gemma, because she went up on land and helped humans who were injured on the beach!" Ailene answered quickly.
"Cilan, because she used her powers to help sustain and clean the ocean." Coral answered afterwards. But our questionnaire was cut short (like always), by one of the hotel staff knocking and entering.
"May all princesses make their way to the main room for a meeting. Be sure to sit according to your kingdoms."
As soon as the door shut I sighed in annoyance, followed by Coral and Ailene, we barely got to relax with each other. The only times we could sneak a bit of time together was at night, and usually we would all be too exhausted to talk and we would only spend half an hour a night chatting. Ailene told me that her mom's advice was, 'Think about your kingdom,' but even when I repeated it in my head, it didn't help much.
The three of us all made our way to the main room, it was just a large room with long tables and fancy chairs. all the tables were labelled with the kingdom names. I sat down next to Coral on the table that had the label 'Atlantic Ocean'. I listened for a while but it didn't take me long to get bored, and a little sleepy, but my eyes snapped open when I saw a familiar face from the table next to mine. It was Prince Irivin of the Celtic Sea. Irivin looked up at me and seemed quite excited that I'd noticed him. He had a sort of note in his hand, he pointed at it, then mouthed 'Look at this.' before being silenced by the Queen of the Celtic Sea.
I nodded at the grey tailed prince and tried as slowly as I could to use my water powers to make the note move to my table without being noticed. I managed to get it in my hands without anyone seeing me, then I slowly unfolded it, whilst pretending to listen to the boring speeches. I looked at the paper, it seemed to be created with special ocean plants because I could feel the power of them making me stronger as I touched it. It waked me up a lot. Then I looked down at the paper, and I couldn't help but smile. On the sheet, was a beautiful drawing of me, wearing my favourite tiara. I loved it. I so desperately wanted to thank Irivin, but I couldn't do it here, it would cause a scene and it would be utterly embarrassing for me and everyone else. But I had a plan:
I knew what I had to do early tomorrow.
